Description of Program:
The IntraFaith Hospitality DayCenter program brings shelter, meals, and support services to families without homes. The DayCenter provides two meals daily, and welcoming care. Guests use the centrally located DayCenter from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, where the IFHDC Director, Professional Social Workers, Life Skills and Employment Facilitators, Child Care Specialists and Community Volunteers provide case management support services. There, guests pursue employment, tend pre-school children, shower, and do laundry. The day center provides guests with a mailing address, centralized phone and internet services and a base for empowerment classes as well as housing and employment searches.
Many guests are employed during the day, while older children attend school. Volunteers provide various services: cooking and serving meals; playing with and caring for children and helping them with homework; while interacting with all guests with respect and compassion. Local social service agencies refer families to the Network. The agencies may also help guests find housing, jobs, and benefits. An IFHDC van transports guests to and from the day center as individual need requires.

Client Information:
Intended Participants: Any homeless family with children. Program is long-term oriented; short-term/drop-in services are not provided.
Eligibility:
Families must be formally affiliated with an existing community support service. Families must be capable of participating in a family environment supervised by volunteers. Additional guidelines are flexible per individual needs.
